Instead of patiently waiting for Lily to return, Daniel downplayed his connection with her and hit the sheets with Heather Stevens (Vail Bloom). Daniel has secretly reunited with Heather and is just waiting on the right time to break that news to Lily.

There’s no denying that Daniel looks pretty bad in this whole scenario – and Heather doesn’t look too good either for pouncing on Daniel while Lily was away.

Are viewers supposed to be rooting for Daniel and Heather as some sort of epic love story?

At this point, Heather and Daniel just look like dirty cheaters who are going to add to all the drama that Lily’s already been dealing with.

However, there might be a way to level the playing field a bit and make Daniel look a little less disgusting.

What if Lily has a secret romance out in California that’ll eventually be revealed?

Lily is definitely supporting Mattie, but that doesn’t mean she’s with her daughter around the clock. It just means that Lily is nearby if Mattie needs her – and she may not need her mom all the time.

Maybe one of the reasons Lily’s taking so long to come home involves a hot new man in her life.

It’d be kind of funny if Daniel expects to break up with Lily and then gets dumped by her instead!

It’d let Daniel off the hook somewhat if Lily’s fallen for someone else and is perhaps facing a similar dilemma right now.

This might set the stage for a new Y&R character introduction if Lily ultimately brings a fresh hunk back to Genoa City with her.

Whatever the case, The Young and the Restless spoilers say some surprising revelations are coming up after Christel Khalil gets back from her maternity leave.
