Even though LeBron James was coy about his future after the Los Angeles Lakers' season ended with a first-round playoff loss to the Denver Nuggets, he's expected to remain with the club in 2024-25.

On the latest episode of the #thisleague UNCUT podcast (starts at 15:00 mark), NBA insider Marc Stein said "all signals" at this point are that James will sign a new deal with the Lakers.

Stein did point out that the structure of James' next deal are unclear at this point.

Following the Lakers' season-ending loss to the Nuggets on Monday, James was asked if thought that would be his last game with the club.

"I'm not going to answer that," James said before dropping the microphone. He did note earlier in the press conference he would sit down with his family and agent, Rich Paul, at some point to discuss "what's best for my career."

James has a $51.4 million player option in his current contract for next season. The 20-time All-Star is eligible to sign a deal for up to three years and $162 million this summer if he opts out, per ESPN's Bobby Marks.

It would represent the richest deal in total value and average annual salary ($54 million) of James' career.

Marks noted the Lakers are currently projected to be over the first tax apron of $178.7 million but under the second apron of $189.6 million factoring in cap holds and their 2024 first-round draft pick.

Despite being the oldest player in the NBA this season, James is still playing at a high level.

He averaged 25.7 points, 8.3 assists and 7.3 rebounds per game across 71 starts.
